VILLA BADIA

One of the most elegant homes in the Tuscan countryside is Villa Badia, which is situated next to the Abbey of Passignano, which is well-known for the Antinori family's vineyards. Nestled between the provinces of Florence and Siena, the property is situated in the center of Chianti.
The Fattore (Administrator) of the enormous agricultural holding of the famous Abbey of Passignano, which dates back to the Xth century, had the residence constructed during the XV and XVI centuries. Throughout the ages, the villa retained all of its original features, which the final owner purchased in 2007.

Four years of arduous renovation work have brought this amazing property up to date and ready for rental use. The work involved finding the right architect, forming a construction company with local artisans, and searching throughout Italy for original materials to make the right hand-made pavement, chimney, forged iron, doors, etc. After the repair project was completed, the owner embarked on an endless tour of antique shops in Italy and France to furnish the villa in a way that honored its original design and character while simultaneously creating a cozy and restful space for his visitors. After the refurbishment and decorating were completed in 2012, the villa was featured and awarded by several of Europe's leading design and architecture publications.

Situated just two kilometers from the village of Sambuca, Villa Badia boasts breathtaking views of the Chianti countryside from its hilltop location. The outside is entirely made of the ancient stones, and a Mediterranean garden encircles it. It is set back from other populated areas by more than 600 yards on a 10-acre plot of ancient Tuscan oak forest. The villa's interior features a big living and dining area, a gourmet-style kitchen, five bathrooms, and six bedrooms—five of which are doubles and one twin. It is perfect for a party of up to 10+2 people looking for the perfect vacation spot. A spacious and luxurious place for sunbathing accompanies an infinity pool spanning 60 feet for visitors to enjoy.

The property is one of many that were originally owned by the Monastery, which produces some of the most renowned Italian wines. It borders the property of Marchese Antinory. From the villa, one can see the ten-century-old Abbey of Passignano, which is only a short drive away. It's perfect to explore some of the world's most fascinating art cities from the villa's position. Drive 15 miles and you'll find Florence; Siena, the Palio city, is only 20 miles away. The charming city of towers, San Gimignano, is only eighteen miles away from the villa. There are countless gourmet/winery, outdoor, and cultural activities that may be arranged in close proximity to the estate, but it would take months to experience them all.

Spreading across the traditional Tuscan hills colored by vineyards, cypresses, olive groves, and woodlands is the absolutely unique view of Villa Badia. Surrounded by several elegant locations, the villa features a well-furnished patio near the kitchen where guests can dine alfresco. A short path descends to the ancient basin, which was once a washtub but has been transformed into a magnificent 16-by-4.5-meter swimming pool with salt water. A lovely walking path circles the entire home, providing a fragrant display of rosemary and lavander plants in the summer.

With its natural stone walls and a little turret (Colombaia) atop, the villa has the classic Tuscan farmhouse exterior, complete with breathtaking 360-degree views of the Chianti region.

In addition to the turret, the home has two stories.

GROUND FLOOR. From the garden, you enter the main entrance hall, which leads to the following areas: on the left, the first double bedroom with an ensuite shower-equipped bathroom; on the right, a spacious and fully furnished kitchen featuring a double oven and seven burner stove, a large refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a long table in the middle; a french door opens to a patio that serves as a dining area for all of the house's guests.
If you'd rather eat dinner inside, the kitchen is also adjacent to and linked to the dining area!
The elegant living area is situated in front and is split into three sizable sections: the dining room, the living area with the French window opening to the garden, and the living area with sofas and a fireplace. Every living room faces the swimming pool area with French windows.

A short staircase leads up to the FIRST FLOOR from the entrance hall. Here, you'll find a hallway with a tiny sofa that leads to two bedrooms: one with a French bed and an ensuite shower bathroom, and another (a twin bedroom) that shares a bathroom (with a bathtub, shower, and double sink) with another double bedroom. You may enter the spacious living area with fireplace from the hallway. Access is available to the shared bathroom's double bedroom on the right, as well as the roomy master double bedroom with fireplace, shower, and dressing area on the left. A staircase ascends to the COLOMBAIA, or the turret, from the hall. Inside, there is a single twin room with panoramic windows and a sofa with an amazing view.

The villa can accommodate 10+2 guests: there are five double bedrooms plus one twin room which is located in the Colombaia. It should be noted that this room is not near a bathroom, making it a better choice for kids or a nanny who wants the freedom to use the restrooms in the other rooms.
