About Villa

Not far from the village of Umbertide, about 20 minutes by car north of Perugia, Villa Abete, one of the villas of a large estate, is located on the top of a splendid panoramic hill overlooking the surrounding valley.
The property finely restored and extremely well-kept consisting of a stone-built 4 bedroom house with adjoining a little church now deconsecrated where the farmers would congregate for Sunday Holy Mass until the late 1970s.

Villa Abete, one of the oldest properties on the estate, with its terracotta floors and original kitchen, together with its impressive stone walls, give an insight into the history of the building as the most important social meeting point on the estate.
Set within the elegant and spacious garden, the heated swimming pool and beautiful wood-paneled terrace offer a peaceful retreat with uninterrupted views of the estate.

The patron saint of Gubbio, Sant'Ubaldo, is a particularly important figure who every year in May is celebrated at the 'Corsa dei Ceri' a frenetic hill race among the strongest of the different districts of the country carrying huge wooden candles or candles. This ancient festival is famous throughout the country and is really worth a visit.
